   Life Coach

I'm a graduate of the Coaches Training Institute (CTI), the world's leading coach training institution. CTI teaches that the client is “naturally creative, resourceful, and whole” and that the client (you) sets the agenda for coaching. As a coach, I'm your partner. Together we uncover what you want to change, what you want more of—and what you want less of—in your life. Then the two of us come up with a plan for how you will get there.

You're the one who knows yourself best, and you are the one who will get yourself where you want to be, with my support and encouragement. I'm walking with you every step of the way—no judgments, no finger-pointing. Sometimes I'll make an observation that may shake up how you look at things. When you decide to make a change or take an action, I'll help keep you accountable to your goals. Our coaching takes place on the phone, scheduled at your convenience.

   Recovery Coaching

My special passion is coaching people who are in recovery or thinking about changing their relationship to a substance or practice that no longer serves them. I often work with men and women who have been through an inpatient program and need to figure out how to live their new life outside.

Recovery coaching isn't a substitute or a competitor for having a 12-step sponsor, attending meetings or seeing a therapist. Recovery coaching is a unique partnering relationship to help you build the life that addiction has kept you from enjoying. I can work with whatever recovery program, if any, that you are using. I have many years of experience with most models of recovery, having used some of them myself, and I celebrate the use of harm reduction techniques.

For the past seven years I have been the moderator of the San Francisco branch of Women for Sobriety and these brave women have taught me more than even my many courses in additiction and coaching have brought.

Depending on your needs, you set how often you will phone or email me. The Co-Active model of addressing the client's whole life is particularly important in recovery coaching. As my client, you are vastly more than your addiction.
